Hey! I’m Lyndsay, and I’m so happy to have you here!
I have a Master’s of Counselling degree, I’m a Certified Animal-Assisted Therapy Professional, and I’m a Registered Psychologist.
I’ve been incorporating Animal-Assisted Interventions in helping professions since 2012, and have been training others in AAIs since 2018.
I’ve always had an amazing connection with animals and an understanding of how powerful the human-animal connection can be.
Most importantly, I love animals and helping others, and it has been a dream to combine both of my passions into one. I created this training to help you do the same.
I’ve taken my clinical training, plus nearly a decade of experience, to create this all-in-one streamlined training to teach you the fundamentals of the beautiful field of work that is AAI. I’m so excited for you, and I’m honored to be a part of your journey. 🐾

What if I’ve never worked with animals before?
You’re in the right place! This training course was designed for beginners. By the end of the course, you’ll have a solid foundation in animal-assisted interventions and competency in how to work with animals. By the end of the training, you’ll have the confidence to start incorporating animals into your work.
Does this training only teach me how to work with dogs and horses?
Nope! Foundations of Animal-Assisted Interventions is designed to teach you how to work with all types of animals. The training focuses on ethics and professional competency, and therefore covers all of our furry friends. The Understanding Animals lesson in the course provides you with an understanding of how to work with your specific animal, regardless of the type of animal.
What if I’m not located in Canada?
You can still enroll in the course! This training isn’t limited to Canadian citizens.
What if I don’t have enough time?
This course is designed with you in mind. It’s self-paced, so you can access it and learn around your schedule.
Who is the Foundations for Animal-Assisted Interventions training course for?
This course is for any professional who wants to incorporate animal-assisted interventions into their work. This applies to teachers, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, child/youth workers, homecare workers, eldercare workers, correction officers, group homes, social workers, therapists, psychologists, counselors, and mental health professionals.
Do I need to be licensed to practice AAI?
There is no license required to incorporate animal-assisted interventions into your program or practice. You do, however, need to be licensed in your field.
Is Foundations for Animal-Assisted Interventions approved by my state/region licensing board for CECs?
The Foundations of Animal-Assisted Interventions course has also been pre-approved by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the CACCF for 24 continuing education credit hours! If you aren’t Canadian, don’t fret! You can download the course outline for free and submit it to your board for pre-approval.
How long do I have to complete the course?
I designed this course to be self-paced so you can fit it into your hectic schedule. Whether you complete it in a week, a month or six months is entirely up to you!
How long do I have access to the course?

Will I receive a certificate at the end?
